New issue of Philosophy and Society (Vol. 37, No. 1)
We are pleased to announce the publication of the new issue of Philosophy and Society (Vol. 37, No. 1).
This issue features a thematic section titled “Art, Media, and Democratic Imaginaries in the 2024–2025 Protests in Serbia”, guest-edited by Jelena Guga and Čedomir Markov. The section examines the recent wave of protests in Serbia through the lenses of artistic practices and media dynamics, exploring how architecture, performance, sound, and digital communication shape collective political action and public discourse.
Contributions in the thematic section address topics such as the performativity of architecture in protest spaces, student-led artistic practices, the choreographies of collective action, sonic dimensions of dissent, and the role of media, digital narratives, and memes in shaping protest visibility and meaning.
In addition to the thematic section, the issue includes a range of original research articles covering topics in political philosophy and social theory. These include discussions of Foucault and counter-subjectivation, debates on well-being and contextualism, the right of rebellion in the digital age, and questions concerning democracy and citizenship within the European Union.
The issue also features a book review and an overview of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory’s activities.
